WW6. 176 Oregon CDL Exam Prep

This course will prepare the student to take the general knowledge portion of the Commercial Driver License exam. The Commercial Driver License focuses on safety aspects of the operation of commercial vehicles. All Oregon requirements to take the exam are the responsibility of the student. This course does not meet the requirements of any of the CDL endorsements but covers the safety and legal requirements of the endorsement. It is the responsibility of the student to meet Oregon licensing requirements, schedule testing, and pay all fees.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Themes. The license requirements will be covered as well as general driving safety, cargo safety, passenger safety, air brakes, combination vehicles, double and triples, tank vehicle, requirements will be reviewed. Concepts. Safety is the primary concept in each of the sections. A thorough understanding of the rules and laws of the State of Oregon is key. An ability of recognize concepts in test questions is also valuable in successfully completing the state assessment. Issues. The ability to answer test question as they pertain to the understanding of the laws, governing the safe operation of commercial vehicles becomes an issues of interpretation. State licensing exams are multiple choice questions and can be a challenges to students. Skills. The understanding of laws governing the operation of commercial vehicles and the ability to answer multiple choice questions in the skill to master. The class will have weekly practice exams to review the science of multiple choice questions and compared to the facts in the Driver Manual
