MA3. 453 Advanced CNC Technology III

This course provides training and learning experiences in Computer Numeric Control (CNC) technology. Students will receive training on safe CNC operation skills on a number different of CNC machines and controls. Students will design parts, generate machine code, design and machine fixtures.

Prerequisite: MA3.420 CNC Mill, MA3.421 CNC Lathe, MA3.451 Advanced CNC Technology I and MA3.452 Advanced CNC Technology II with a B or better.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Use MasterCam to generate toolpaths and machine code for turning centers and vertical machining centers. Design parts, generate machine code, Design and make a specific fixture. Operate the tool per setter on a turning center and a machining center. Use a touch probe to verify specification compliance. Preset tool lengths with a height gage.
