Provides additional hands-on skill development with the Gas Tungsten-Arc Welding process on aluminum alloys beyond the introduction provided in prerequisite WD4.152 Welding II; also provides an introduction to the Gas Metal-Arc Welding process on aluminum alloys. Includes technical information lectures in related subject areas.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Safety. Set up and operate welding machine used for GTAW and GMAW for aluminum. Perform welding in the flat position, horizontal, and vertical position with GTAW and GMAW as applicate to each specific welding process GTAW and GMAW. Recognize and name the various components of the aluminum welding equipment that are essential to the safe operation and maintenance of the equipment.
