MTH 241 Calculus for Bio/Mgmnt/Soc Sci

Introduces calculus as applied to business, the social sciences and life sciences. It uses an intuitive development of the calculus of polynomial, exponential and logarithmic functions, extrema theory and applications.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Apply calculus to solve problems with confidence, persistence, and openness to alternate approaches. Interpret and communicate the concepts of rates of change and derivatives. Collaborate to solve calculus problems related to their field of study. Recognize when and how to proficiently apply calculus tools to solve problems in business management, social sciences, and biological sciences. Use a graphing calculator and or other technology in solve applied problems.
