WW6. 169 Effluent Disinfection, Disposal & Reuse

Covers the importance of the disinfection of in the wastewater treatment facility. Disposal options and reuse processes for reclaimed wastewater are covered in this course. Disinfection processes include chlorination, ultraviolet light, and other options. Federal and state regulations for disposal and reuse are covered in this course. Required: WW6.190 Introduction to Environmental Technology, and WW6.192 Primary and Secondary Treatment.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Understand and explain chemical, microbiological, and operational impacts for the disinfection of treated effluent for a wastewater treatment facility. Identify and apply the operational skills required for the control of the disinfection of treatment plant effluent. Understand and explain the operational procedures, monitoring processes and regulations for reclaiming and reusing wastewater effluent.
