DI 231 Interventional Lab Fundamentals

Content is designed to provide entry-level radiography students with an introduction to, and basic understanding of, the cardiac catheter lab environment. Content is not intended to result in clinical competency. Critical thinking is emphasized.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Describe and explain the equipment components and the image acquisition process of cardiac imaging systems. Explain the procedural requirements for interventional exams including diagnostic studies, percutaneous intervention, hemodynamics and conduction system studies. Identify and describe methods used to assess and monitor patient's condition.
