DA5. 502 Basic Science for Dentistry
This course will provide a generalized overview of basic science as it relates to normal anatomy and physiology of the body and associated structures. Basic principles and terminology will be used to assist the student with the more detailed studies of oral anatomy/pathology. Focus will be on location, structure and function of the body with more integrated detail in landmarks, anatomy and physiology of the head and neck area.
Prerequisite
Required: Acceptance to the Dental Assistant program.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Sciences are the foundation of dental assisting. The student must be able to demonstrate introductory knowledge identification of fundamental structures of human body in relationship to its parts. Students will pronounce, define, spell, locate and identify terms to describe actual knowledge of the body. More detailed course work is in the head and neck area
