Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Students should be able to understand and demonstrate basic foundational painting processes of planning, preparing, creating and finishing a painting using the painting medium. This understanding must include how to responsibly use and properly dispose painting materials media used in an environmentally sustainable process. Student should demonstrate an understanding of how to create the illusion of form within a painting. Students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to express content within the form of a painting. Students should demonstrate an understanding of basic expressive and technical skills inherent in the painting media, especially through their understanding of value, color and texture. Student should be able to demonstrate an understanding of an appreciation of the significance of painting as an art form that visually expresses ideas significant to culture, history, and the enrichment of their own lives..
