SPN 216 Spanish For Heritage Speakers III
The third part of a three-course sequence, this course is designed specifically for the needs of Spanish heritage speakers. Improves reading, writing, grammar and speaking skills, while fostering critical thinking and deepening the understanding and appreciation of Hispanic cultures in the world and within the United States. All classroom interaction occurs in Spanish. Required: Spanish native speaker or heritage speaker (grew up speaking Spanish at home); completion of SPN 215 Spanish for Heritage Speakers II or instructor's approval.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Communicate accurately in Spanish through the use of additional subjunctive tenses and hypothetical constructions. Analyze literature, movies or music written by authors from Spanish speaking countries. Demonstrate meta-linguistic knowledge of Spanish by contrasting variations of the language in different geographical areas.
