HE 110 First Aid and CPR

Prepares the student in basic first aid and adult CPR and provides information to properly administer the necessary immediate care to an injured or suddenly ill person. An emphasis is placed on early recognition of emergency medical situations and taking appropriate steps to stabilize the victim while activating the emergency medical services system.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Recall basic First Aid terminology. Recognize an individual who is in need of immediate care. Demonstrate proper techniques involved in assessing and delivering CPR as well as treating a variety of wounds and injuries. Demonstrate proper sanitation practices to insure no transmission of communicable diseases while practicing CPR/ First Aid.
