Introduces basic geological concepts through lecture and a field trip in the vicinity of the Oregon Cascade Mountains. Recommended: Completion or concurrent enrollment in a geology or related course is strongly recommended.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Describe the geologic history of the Oregon Cascades region. Use geologic field observations to infer past and present geologic processes and hazards. Communicate geologic concepts effectively using maps and diagrams in written and/or oral formats.
