SPN 105 Spanish Agriculture/Horticulture II

This course will enable students to continue to build language proficiency and introduce new grammar structures, particularly those used to communicate about past events and commands. This class augments studentsäó» ability to deal with different practical situations that students will encounter in the agricultural/horticultural workplace in Spanish. It also explores the Spanish-speaking cultures with high populations both in the U.S. and in the agricultural/horticultural workplace.

Required: SPN 104 Spanish Agriculture/Horticulture I with a grade of C or better, SPN 101 First Year Spanish I with a grade of C or better, or take the placement examination, or obtain instructor's approval.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate an ability to use the preterite verb tense to communicate past events in the agricultural/horticultural workplace. Demonstrate an ability to use commands to convey work duties common in the agricultural/horticultural workplace. Communicate and demonstrate an ability to deal with everyday life situations in the agricultural/horticultural workplace. Develop knowledge of Spanish-speaking cultures with high populations in the U.S. and agricultural/horticultural workplace. Differentiate appropriate social settings for use of Spanish, Spanglish, and other colloquialisms encountered in the agricultural/horticultural workplace.
