MTH 097 Practical Geometry

Presents applied, informal geometry for students who did not take geometry in high school or who need a thorough review. Includes problem solving, geometric shapes, angle measure, perimeter, area and volume, congruence and similarity, circles, basic constructions and an introduction to right triangle trigonometry.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Perform geometric constructions using a compass and unmarked straightedge. Solve for the unknown measures of geometric shapes, given sufficient information. Classify geometric shapes based upon definitions and properties. Model application problems using geometrical reasoning.
