APR 225 Systems Integration

Designed for the electrical apprentice working/studying to become a Class-A Limited Energy Technician. The topics covered in this course include: audio, closed circuit television (CCTV), Broadband Systems and Systems Integration. The National Electrical Code (NEC) will be emphasized as it relates to the safe installation of each of these low-voltage systems. NEC practice exams will be administered during the last two weeks of the term.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Identify the primary components of audio and CCTV systems and explain the basic operation of each. Specify proper cabling criteria for audio and CCTV systems installation. Describe typical audio system and CCTV troubleshooting techniques. Select and terminate coaxial cables used for specific applications. Define the term system integration and identify typical situations where it may be encountered. Describe the best practices for interoperability and system performance. Describe various user interfaces available for integrated systems monitoring and control.
