Covers the critical core skills necessary for workplace success. Topics include, but are not limited to, adaptability, self-awareness, digital fluency, communication, collaboration, empathy, analysis/solution mindset, resilience, entrepreneurial mindset, and social and diversity awareness.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  1. Consider multiple points of view and analyze motivations behind multiple sources of information.
  2. Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships by working with diverse groups or teams; this includes the use of technology tools to allow effective and collaborative in-person and remote teamwork.
  3. Present information that is appropriate in content, professional in both tone and language, and tailored to the recipient/audience 
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the difference between empathy and sympathy and when to apply each. 
  5. Develop innovative and new ideas that are ethical while connecting information from various sources.
  6. Set and prioritize goals and anticipate possible consequences of decisions in order to make backup plans.
  7. Demonstrate sensitivity and respect towards others with diverse backgrounds and cultures both locally and globally.
