NDT 101 Prepping For Success in CTE

Provides students the tools, software training, and information to successfully navigate classes at LBCC, specifically the CTE programs.  Furthermore, students will work on work related soft-skills, building resumes, interviewing and CTE specific skills including researching industry partners and reading inspection prints. This class should be taken in place of HD 120/121.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Evaluate career and academic options within the field of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) or relevant CTE field of study. Identify common expectations, skills, and strategies for academic success in NDT and other CTE programs including completing assignments with important electronic educational resources. Utilize resources and services specifically offered at LBCC to address personal challenges and to achieve the goal of successfully completing the NDT or related CTE program. Recognize and describe their own strengths, behaviors, and potential challenges affecting their learning. Establish relationships with LBCC community and the NDT community to build personal and professional growth. Prepare for employment in NDT related field by completing a resume and participating in CTE related interviews both genuine and mock. Read, write and interpret blueprints.
