HVE 114 Fundamental Shop Skills
Provides practical working knowledge of safety in the trade areas of employment. Uses safety regulatory agencies as a foundation, and also includes forklift training. Includes online training specific to safety and pollution prevention.

Placement into
WR 095 or higher and placement into
MTH 075 or higher.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate the proper use of personal protection equipment and hazardous materials. Demonstrate the proper inspection, care and storage of electric tools. Demonstrate the proper use of hand tools. Demonstrate proper lock out tag out procedures. Demonstrate understanding of the HazCom standard and Safety Data Sheets.
