Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Compare criminal and civil law as they apply to the practicing medical assistant. Describe the implications of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Differentiate between legal, ethical, and moral issues in healthcare. Develop a plan for separation of personal and professional ethics. Demonstrate awareness of diversity in providing patient care. Examine and describe the impact personal ethics and morals may have on the individual's practice.
