AU3. 290 Math & Measurement for Transportation Technicians

Focuses on numerical literacy, operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, ratios, algebraic expressions, practical geometry, and trigonometry. Emphasis is on the application of mathematics with realistic transportation technician examples. Explores the use of common measuring tools employed in transportation technician industries and examines the types of computation and problem-solving methods utilized in those industries.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Use mathematical principles and concepts (arithmetic, geometry, algebra, trigonometry, and space and time), to include unit conversions, as applicable to the transportation technician trades. Use common measuring devices found in transportation technician trades. Demonstrate how to interpret and analyze documented procedures (service manuals and those alike). Employ basic reading and writing skills to communicate math and measurement.
